Hello all.
A couple of minor concerns have been raised with regard to training/rowing matters.

1) Now the weather has changed, people are not so prepared to wait on the shoreline for their turn to row, quite understandably. With this in mind I am going to produce a rowing rota for the weekends, so members are given a time to row. The rota will be in 3/4 hour slots, starting at 10am till 1pm for the more experienced, competitive rowers, and 2pm onwards for less experienced, and social rowers.
To facilitate this, anybody who knows they will be rowing, should contact me with the day/s they can row, no later than the Thursday before. I will then draw up a rota, and email it out on the Friday. I will leave the 11.30am slot free, for those who happen to turn up, etc.
This is a bit of trial and error, but please bear with me. To contact me, either:

TEXT 07733017325 with name as I don't have all mobiles yet., or
EMAIL henrycbarlow@googlemail.com

2) There have been some concerns raised that there is a clique developing in the rowing side of the club. There is a hard core group of rowers who want to be very competitive, and subsequently have committed a lot of time to rowing practices. Because of this, they have become very friendly, through spending so much time together, but please let me assure all members that the club is very aware not to become cliquey. If any member has any problems at all regarding rowing matters, please do not hesitate to contact me.

3) Winter League.
The winter league with Swanage and Weymouth is a "fun" competition, designed to give us all a bit of racing experience. These meets are open to all, from novices up, who wish to compete. The next meet is in Lyme on the 30th of November, let me know if you wish to take part.

4) Dry training.
We're in the process of establishing some spin and circuit classes. Info to follow soon.

5) World Championships, Isles of Scilly. 2,3,4 of May 2009.
Anybody who wishes to go to the Worlds next year, now is the time to book camping etc. Please could any members who want to camp on St.Marys, whether rowing or supporting, let me know ASAP, so I can book some pitches for the club.

I think that is all at the moment, apologies for the length of the mail.

Cheers for now,
Henry.
